Sammo's First Pheasant

Went on a youth pheasant hunt with the Jordans back in October and Drew got both of his pheasants.
Sammo got to retrieve his first pheasant ever!

Clamming adventures

We did a little different activity for Thanksgiving vacation this year-went clamming. It was dark, but relatively mild for the north coast area (near Astoria). Had a blast eating clams and other great seafood, and just getting away for the weekend.

It's all about...

This is a sign that I made for the house this Christmas. This was about the only lighting we put up this year, but I think it says it all. "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21.

Mayola's Present

This picture shows the kitchen from the living room with Mom getting a present from us.

Sammo's Christmas Treats

Here's a shot of our living room, and Sammo getting his Christmas goodies from Momma.

Moving Day

These folks were awesome, although
someone wants to remain anonymous!
Here's the living room, as you see it when you first walk in the front door.

Backyard Looking Away From House

Kind of cozy, but still private.

Backyard Looking at House

It's a small backyard, but has enough
room to BBQ and enjoy some sun.
Mom's room has the outdoor entrance to it.
The sliding door goes to the living room.

Sammo's Stairs

Of course, Sammo has to get in the picture.
He's keeping a lookout at the top of the stairs,
in case something like dinner was happening.

Another Shot from the front

We've begun putting a short fence in the front around the lawn for Sammo to have more room to roam around. It will probably be a couple of weeks before it's finished though.

Neighborhood Looking East toward Klamath Falls

Here's a shot looking to the east, down Agate Meadows Road,
which runs perpendicular to 28th St. (our place is just to the right of the photo)
You can see snow-covered Mt. McLoughlin in the background, which is at about 9200 ft. Elevation.

Neighborhood Looking South toward Medford

Here's a shot of 28th street, looking south toward Eagle Point and Shady Cove. This is the view we see driving out of our cul-de-sac.

Moving Day-Horse Trailer!

The Boren Family was a real blessing in helping us move,
as well as loaning their 32 ft horse trailer, that we got most
of our stuff in!

The New House

We are really blessed to be in our new place! The location is great (between work and church), we have plenty of room, and the neighborhood is really nice. God is just so good! Here is a picture of our new place.

Southeast Face of The Steens Mountains

Here is another picture from our vacation and ramblings this summer. We drove over Hart Mountain toward the Steens Mountains via Fields.

Leanne, Sammo, Warner Lakes

Here's a shot of Leanne and Sammo with the Warner Lakes in the background. We are up on Hart Mountain, near the town of Plush (north of Lakeview). We took the long way to get to Baker this summer and saw some great scenery in Southern and Southeast Oregon.

Vacation to Baker City-August '06

Recently, took a trip back to Baker City and one of the event we attended was called "Bluegrass in the Blues", a jam/campout. It was fun to re-connect with our musical friends from NE Oregon and enjoy some great scenery again. You can see more pictures at the following site:

Men's Campout with Trail Christian Fellowship July '06

Here's a picture of Dave Facuitto doing some Bible teaching at our campout this summer. It was a relaxing and regenerating time of fellowship, learning the Word, worship, and even fishing!

Clamming

Here's one of me after one of those razors. They were showing really well that day. Sometimes there would be 2 or 3 showing at a time, then you had to choose which one to chase!

Leanne Clamming

A shot of Leanne after the infamous razor clam. She had a good time, as we all did. So, we got her some waders for her birthday, since she's hooked on clamming! The weather was perfect too. We even escaped the brutal Medford heat for the weekend. And this was only the third weekend in June! You can see more clamming pictures of us at:

Chukar hunting from Medford?

Well, chukar hunting is now a long drive from Medford. I used to be able to get to some good hunting within an hour drive out of Baker, but now it's 3 1/2 to 4 hours drive to get over by Lakeview and Hart Mountain. This shot is of Sammo and me north of Lakeview (my friend Tim took the picture) in January. We got into birds about the last hour of daylight. It was snowing pretty good that day too.

Merry Christmas 2005!

We just praise God for another year where we take a season to specifically recognize the Incarnation-Jesus coming down from heaven to be one of us, to take on humanity, live a perfect, sinless life, and to die as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. That is the most awesome gift of all, to enable us to be with Him forever! We pray that your Christmas is a blessing, and that you get an opportunity to share these truths with those you love. Jon, Leanne, and Sammo.

Mount McLoughlin

Well, were sort of settled in Medford now, but staying with Leanne's mom for the time being. We're praying that our house in Baker will sell soon, but that is in the Lord's hands. As you know, real estate is basically nutso here. We've looked at some places, but it's really discouraging! Well, God's got a plan for us. It's great to be back with our church family at Trail, and catching up on what's going on with friends.

This is a shot of Mt. McLoughin from my desk at work (nice contrast huh? Snow covered peak in the background, with a junkyard in the foreground? :)

THE CLEMENTS IN BAKER CITY

Hello friends! Welcome to our Blog. Well, the latest thing that's happening with us, is that the Lord's moving us back to Medford! We needed to be closer to Leanne's mom, and I got a job offer, so it was really clear that we needed to go back. It will be exciting to be a part of Trail www.trail.org We have missed the folks back there, the teaching and the great times of worship. We will miss all of you here in Baker, but we'll be back to visit from time to time. Please write us some comments on this page, so we know you visited. It will be fun to hear from you and what's going on with each of you! We'll keep updating and improving it. Check out some of the cool links too.

Hiking in the Elkhorn (Blue Mountains)

Jon, Leanne, and Sammo are shown here at Dutch Flat Saddle in the Elkhorn Mountains west of Baker City, near Anthony Lakes ski resort. This trail is called the Elkhorn Crest Trail, and is about 25 miles long. It runs from Anthony Lakes to Marble Creek pass, with many awesome scenic views. Jon and Leanne haven't gotten ambitious enough to hike the entire trail yet though!

This our most favorite picture of Sammo, when he was about 3 months old. We call it "Power Nap". Posted by Hello

If you were wondering about the web page name, we named it after Sammo, who, at 108 lbs. is a labrador of unusual size (LOUS), so we often refer to him as the "Chocolate Moose". Posted by Picasa

Baker's Oregon Trail Interpretive Center has lots of intesting Oregon Trail history and exibits. We're standing next to an authenic prairie schooner. This shot shows the Elkorns to the West (in the background). Posted by Picasa

Jon, trying to catch some wind on the sailboard and cool off a bit. This is the 203 pond, with the Elkhorn mountains in the background. Posted by Picasa

Jon and Sammo have been busy during the fall and winter chukar hunting with friends. Here they are shown near Halfway, about 3/4 of the way up the canyon. Posted by Hello

Leanne and I have been doing some outreach ministry in different areas. This shot is from a worship service for a miners' convention in Burnt River Canyon. Posted by Hello

Jon and Leanne went to Creation Fest in the Columbia Gorge in central Washington along with the youth group from Calvary Baptist in 04. It was a great time with lots of bands like The Newsboys, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, and many others, as well as speakers like Josh McDowell. Check out our link to Creation. To see pictures from Creation 2005, go to www.creation2005.blogspot.com

Jon and Leanne went to this Easter service at the top of Oregon's highest elevation ski resort-Anthony Lakes. It was a neat time to hear the Gospel and about Jesus' resurrection in a different setting. Posted by Picasa

This was our first backpacking trip after moving to Baker, and Sammo's first camping trip. We're at Van Patten Lake in the Elkhorns near Anthony Lakes. Great scenery, and a challenging hike. Posted by Picasa
