THE CLEMENTS IN BAKER CITY

Hello friends! Welcome to our Blog. Well, the latest thing that's happening with us, is that the Lord's moving us back to Medford! We needed to be closer to Leanne's mom, and I got a job offer, so it was really clear that we needed to go back. It will be exciting to be a part of Trail www.trail.org We have missed the folks back there, the teaching and the great times of worship. We will miss all of you here in Baker, but we'll be back to visit from time to time. Please write us some comments on this page, so we know you visited. It will be fun to hear from you and what's going on with each of you! We'll keep updating and improving it. Check out some of the cool links too.

Hiking in the Elkhorn (Blue Mountains)

Jon, Leanne, and Sammo are shown here at Dutch Flat Saddle in the Elkhorn Mountains west of Baker City, near Anthony Lakes ski resort. This trail is called the Elkhorn Crest Trail, and is about 25 miles long. It runs from Anthony Lakes to Marble Creek pass, with many awesome scenic views. Jon and Leanne haven't gotten ambitious enough to hike the entire trail yet though!

This our most favorite picture of Sammo, when he was about 3 months old. We call it "Power Nap". Posted by Hello

If you were wondering about the web page name, we named it after Sammo, who, at 108 lbs. is a labrador of unusual size (LOUS), so we often refer to him as the "Chocolate Moose". Posted by Picasa

Baker's Oregon Trail Interpretive Center has lots of intesting Oregon Trail history and exibits. We're standing next to an authenic prairie schooner. This shot shows the Elkorns to the West (in the background). Posted by Picasa

Jon, trying to catch some wind on the sailboard and cool off a bit. This is the 203 pond, with the Elkhorn mountains in the background. Posted by Picasa

Jon and Sammo have been busy during the fall and winter chukar hunting with friends. Here they are shown near Halfway, about 3/4 of the way up the canyon. Posted by Hello

Leanne and I have been doing some outreach ministry in different areas. This shot is from a worship service for a miners' convention in Burnt River Canyon. Posted by Hello

Jon and Leanne went to Creation Fest in the Columbia Gorge in central Washington along with the youth group from Calvary Baptist in 04. It was a great time with lots of bands like The Newsboys, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, and many others, as well as speakers like Josh McDowell. Check out our link to Creation. Jon and Leanne went to this Easter service at the top of Oregon's highest elevation ski resort-Anthony Lakes. It was a neat time to hear the Gospel and about Jesus' resurrection in a different setting. Posted by Picasa

This was our first backpacking trip after moving to Baker, and Sammo's first camping trip. We're at Van Patten Lake in the Elkhorns near Anthony Lakes. Great scenery, and a challenging hike. Posted by Picasa
